Did you know that Tokyo Disneyland’s Country Bear Theater traces back to one of Walt Disney’s very last ideas?
Walt’s Ski Resort Dream
In the 1960s, Walt planned a ski resort in California. Among the concepts was a show featuring a cast of singing, banjo-strumming bears entertaining guests in a cozy mountain lodge.
The resort was never built, but the idea lived on.
From Dream to Reality
After Walt’s passing, his team carried the concept forward, and in 1971 the Country Bear Jamboree debuted at Magic Kingdom in Florida as one of the park’s original attractions.
The show was later brought to Tokyo Disneyland, where it continues to delight audiences today—making it one of the rare places where you can still experience Walt’s “last dream.”

Originally, the bears were meant to perform in a ski lodge! Imagine enjoying their show after a day on the slopes. ⛰️🐻
✨ Summary
The Country Bear Jamboree isn’t just a comedy show.
It’s the stage where Walt Disney’s final dream was carried on by his team—and still shines today in Tokyo.
Next time you visit Tokyo Disneyland, don’t miss the chance to experience a living piece of Walt’s legacy.
