From Florida to Tokyo—the Journey of the Country Bears
The beloved Country Bear Jamboree first opened on October 1, 1971, as one of the original attractions at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. It was such a hit that Disney brought the bears west the very next year.
In 1972, Disneyland introduced the show inside a brand-new land called Bear Country—a rare case where an attraction actually created an entire themed area. (That land later evolved into today’s Critter Country.)

And when Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983, the Country Bears were there on day one, performing as the Country Bear Theater. Generations of guests in Japan have grown up with their music ever since.

Florida’s success literally gave birth to a new land in California. It’s one of the few times an attraction shaped the park itself!
✅ Summary
The Country Bears began in Florida, inspired a whole new land in California, and finally found a home in Tokyo.
Their songs aren’t just entertainment—they represent a Disney tradition that has traveled across the world and stood the test of time. 🐻🎶
