Did you know there’s a subway station hidden inside Tokyo DisneySea?
In the American Waterfront, you’ll spot an entrance marked “Broadway Station.” Most guests walk right by without even noticing—it blends perfectly into the streetscape.
A Station That Doesn’t Exist in NYC
Here’s the twist: in real New York City, there is no actual “Broadway Station.” The real theater district stop is Times Square–42nd Street.
So why is it here? Because DisneySea is set around 1904, when the NYC subway had just opened and was expanding through the city. To capture that era’s atmosphere, Imagineers added a fictional subway entrance—making the streets feel even more authentic.
Disney’s Playful Detail

The stairways, railings, and signage are built so realistically you might expect a train to arrive.
It’s a classic Disney touch: a station you can’t ride, but one that feels like it truly exists.

Broadway Station even has a few electric lamps mixed with the old style—it really feels like the city mid-transition!
✨ Summary
Next time you explore DisneySea, keep an eye out for the SUBWAY entrance on the corner.
It’s a hidden gem that brings the early days of New York’s subway—and Disney’s playful imagination—to life.
